My sister passed away last week very suddenly at the age of 53. Apparently she had a massive heart attack. We are so blessed to know that she is exactly where she longed to be...in the very Presence of our Lord--worshiping Him face to face. (I can only imagine!) She had just come to Arizona to celebrate my son's high school graduation on May 20th. We are so thankful for that precious opportunity to spend more time with Patti. (She lived in Texas) I was in my son's room last night reading the graduation card she had brought to him. I was stunned when I read what she wrote on the inside page of that card...Along with some encouraging words about his walk with the Lord and how proud she was of him, she wrote these words on the inside cover of the card..."Only one life will soon be past...only what's done for Christ will last!" She died a month later. My sister, of course, nad no idea that it would be HER life that would pass so suddenly and unexpectedly. But God, of course, knew. And Patti certainly was affecting eternity as she "lived a life for Christ" each and every day. I will treauser those words and their impact on me for the rest of my life. I thank God for giving me such a godly sister. And I thank God for His Sovereignty. I also thank God for Charles Thomas Studd who wrote this amazing poem to which she referred. I have to say I spent quite a while trying to find the author since I only had the two lines..."Only one life will soon be past...only what's done for Christ will last." But I'm thankful for the journey as it led me to this web-site and I'm thankful for the privilege of now sharing my story. God bless you as you seek to bring glory and honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
